THE TEAM
Roni Shani is a NY and MA licensed speech-language pathologist, holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a certificate as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Roni currently runs her private practice and works as a speech therapist at the NYC Department of Education.
As an adjunct professor at New York University, Roni taught the Developmental Stuttering and Other Fluency Disorders course for speech-language pathology graduate students. Roni provides clinical intervention to private clients and students in an elementary school.
Roni received her master’s degree in communicative sciences and disorders from New York University, and her bachelor's degree in psychology (with a communication minor) from Boston University. Roni underwent training through the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) Advanced Workshop, Introduction to PROMPT: Technique Workshop, and Wilson Reading System Introductory Course. She has experience working in various settings, such as daycares, homecare, public and private elementary schools, outpatient rehabilitation, and private practice. Roni enjoys working with all ages (infants to adults), and strives to incorporate enthusiasm, ease, and teamwork into her therapy. Roni came to this field from a place of passion, and is grateful to help others strengthen any difficulty with communication -- the key component to our lives.
